Join us to support food justice & vegan activist, lauren Ornelas of Food Empowerment Project, as she faces charges brought by the Manager of Whole Foods Market in Sebastopol, CA.

lauren was peacefully and lawfully leafleting outside of Whole Foods Market when the manager called the police. When the police officer wouldn’t arrest lauren, the manager opted to put her under “citizen’s arrest.” lauren now faces criminal trespassing charges.

Please join us and support lauren during her court appearance!  And while you are there, since the court appearance will most likely be short*, please bring a sign and some leaflets as we will use this opportunity to visit one of the Whole Foods locations in Sonoma County to exercise our First Amendment rights!

If you can’t make it, please take a minute and call your local Whole Foods store to let them know how you feel about their decision to sell bunny meat.

Read about lauren’s arrest here, and watch the video here.

Superior Court of California, County of Sonoma
600 Administration Drive
Criminal Room 105
Santa Rosa, CA 95403

*NOTE: Charges for lauren’s case have not been filed. So lauren has to arrive at the courthouse at 8am. If she is on the list, we will want to proceed to the courthouse. If she is not, then that is it. She is cleared but Whole Foods Market still has a year to file the paperwork. We will then go together to a protest site.
